Rap Battles, A Perfect Place to Brag

These Epic Rap Battles are hilarious and very witty. If you have any bragworthy rap videos worth sharing make sure to post them or tweet me a link at @KevinPhwap or @KeepBraggin

They have many more on the site that I think are definitely worth checking out (you can find them by going to their youtube page at http://www.youtube.com/user/nicepeter#p/u/18/AeNYDwbm9qw

I could not think of a better way to show everyone just who it was I spent my time seeing this year at Coachella. Maybe I’ll introduce you to some music you’ve never heard before, or maybe I’ll convince you to go out and see a music festival sometime.

Band 1: Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears: a very fun band I had never heard before. I perfect start to this year.

Band 2: Ozomatli: They put on a great show and it was great festival music

Band 3: Odd Future: They had some great vibes in the tent they were playing at. I only was on the outside and people were basically climbing up the legs of the tent to see better. This song is pretty dope by one of their members

Band 4: Cee Lo Green: Unfortunately, Cee Lo didn’t make it in time. He then preceded  to bash Coachella for giving him such an early set time. I’m sorry Cee Lo, but this next song is directed right back at you. You thought you were way too cool for Coachella and you forgot to thank all those fans that stood there in that blistering sun to see you. Instead, you spent all your time bitching. There were so many amazing bands out there and you were the only one with a negative attitude. Regardless, I still like some of your songs, esecially this one

Band 5: YACHT: I don’t have much to say about this band, because well I don’t really remember seeing them. I must be honest, I was in a bit of a haze by this point in the afternoon. Between all the heat, walking around, the drinking and all the other debauchery I was just having too of a good time to remember all the small details. I vaguely remembering dancing through the crowd over to the next show Cold War Kids.

Band 6: Cold War Kids: The highlight of this set was when every single person in the crowd was signing the lyrics to the chorus of this next song.

Band 7: Sleigh Bells: I love Sleigh Bells so much, I was really happy to get to see them.

Band 8: Brandon Flowers: This was a sweet surprise to figure out that Brandon Flowers was the singer from the Killers. I have some great memories of rocking out to the Killers when I first found them and then randomly partying at a Niagara Falls and hearing their album.

Band 9: the Black Keys: I first got introduced to the Black Keys when Brian Snagglechud made his mixtape. That was super bragworthy and I hope he starts sending some more cds out.

Band 10: Erick Morillo: We had left the Black Keys a little early to be sure to catch Magnetic Man’s whole set. We were lucky enough to get there a little early and catch the end of Erick Morillo’s set. The crowd in the techno tent always seems to have the best energy and that’s what I love about seeing anyone in there. They have tons of lights and a sweet sound system (it’s actually called the Sahara Tent, but techno tent always seemed to be easier for me to remember).

Band 11: Magnetic Man: Between Erick Morillo’s show and Magnetic Man I started to get quite the headache. As soon as Magnetic Man started their show everything seemed to fade away. They put on an absolutely amazing show and I’m really glad we saw them from start to finish. I had been using Magnetic Man as my snowboard music lately and it was a perfect fit.

Band 12: Crystal Castles: Me and Sam actually saw these 2 characters walking around the fairgrounds and had no idea who they were until the day after when looking at Coachella pictures. We only saw a few songs from them, but they sounded amazing out there. I would love to see them again sometime when I can really get into the mix and enjoy their show. I’m had a hard time picking out which song to share with you guys here since I love a few of them so much. This should give you a good idea of how they sound though if you’ve never heard them.

Band 13: Kings of Leon: I’m sure most of you have heard of Kings of Leon before with famous song titles like Sex on Fire. Here’s their other super famous song called Use Somebody. Both of these songs have over 35 million views on youtube and if that’s not something to brag about, I don’t know what is.
